Tea Salon Selections

Thoughtfully gathered loose leaf teas for slow mornings, rainy afternoons, and conversations that deserve another cup and then another.
A Little Louisiana & a Little Lanarkshire

Tea has always carried a certain kind of grace with it, darlin’. In Scotland, it warms the hands after a cold walk home and settles folk round the kitchen table to discuss matters important or inconsequential, or simply to enjoy a quiet moment of reflection. Back in Louisiana, no well-kept household worth speaking of would dream of letting a guest leave without first offering a fine cup of tea and a comfortable place to sit awhile. Mind you, much of it is poured over ice down there, which still causes the occasional raised eyebrow on this side of the Atlantic.

Different places may keep different skies overhead, but the feeling remains much the same. A good cup of tea asks us to slow down a spell, gather close, and enjoy the comfort of simple things done properly. Whether shared beside a bustling Southern porch or a rain-speckled Scottish window, tea has a way of making the world feel softer round the edges.

There is a little mystery tucked into tea as well. Tea leaf reading found its way into many Scottish homes over the years, with fortunes, warnings, and wee bits of hopeful nonsense lingering quietly at the bottom of the cup. We cannot promise prophecy here at Tea Salon Selections, though I do declare a thoughtfully chosen blend can improve the outlook of an afternoon considerably.
